We are absolutely thrilled to get married in one of our favorite places on the planet: Lake Tahoe! For those who haven’t been, it is a marvelous year-round vacation destination, with skiing in the winter (well, when there’s snow) and a myriad of outdoor activities in the summer, spring and fall. We know everyone’s time is limited, but highly recommend spending a few extra days in the area before or after the wedding if you’re able.

Lake Tahoe is located at the border of California and Nevada in the Sierra Nevada. Incline Village is on the Nevada side of the north shore of the lake; all wedding-related activities will take place here. Without traffic, it is approximately a 4-hour drive from our home in San Francisco, or an hour from the nearest airport in Reno (RNO).

Please note that Incline Village is situated at a high elevation: 6300ft/1920m at lake level up to over 8000ft/2400m atop some of the local ski resorts. Summertime temperatures tend to be very pleasant, reaching the mid-high 70s/21s during the day with low humidity and cooling off at night. As with all alpine weather, thunderstorms are always a possibility, so please pack rain gear accordingly!

Read on about how to get here, and what to do once you’re here.
